Startup Entrepreneur of the Year

The Committee of the Cyprus Entrepreneurship Competition (CyEC) announces the "CyEC Startup Entrepreneur of the Year"award. This award aims to reward and honor the CyEC alumni that have dared to proceed with the fulfillment of their dream to create an innovative startup company.
Eligible for this award are individuals, groups or companies that have participated in a CyEC Business Plan Competition in the past. The award will be presented in a ceremony on Feb 02, 2011.
Applications should reach the CyEC Committee by January 24, 2011 and should include the name or names of the applicants, the year in which they participated in the annual Cyprus Entrepreneurship Competition, a short biographical statement of the applicant (or applicants) and a detailed description of the progress made so far on the product or service that was presented at CyEC. The CyEC Committee will judge the applications on the progress made, in relation to the available resources, since their participation at CyEC business plan competition and not necessarily on which product or service has succeeded the most or which company is in the most advanced stage of development.
Monetary awards of up to €5000 will be award to the winner(s).
Applicants can submit their nominations online at the webpage of CyEC http://www.cyec.org.cy/.
Formal Eligibility Criteria:
- The individual, team or company has to have participated in a CyEC Business plan competition
- If a website exists, it should clearly displays the fact that they have participated in a CyEC competition and the award granted, if any.
- The individual, team or company agrees to be present at the two Startup exhibitions that CyEC will be organizing at the following two events:
- The CyEC Entrepreneur of the year award Ceremony in mid-December
- The CyEC 2011 Business Plan Award Ceremony at the end of June
